Our meetings aren’t about your business, they are about you, the Human.
Because of this, we have a unique method of introductions and a novel meeeting style that provide a fresh experience.
Rules
To make sure this isn’t just another networking event, here are the rules:
- This is a no pitch event. This includes the organisers as well. There are dozens of networking meetings you can join to give and recieve pitches. This is not what this meeting is about. If you are found using this event for pitching and to collect contacts for your mailing list, you will be removed from the group. If someone is breaking these rules, please let us know and we will handle it discreetly.
- Be prepared to listen and learn but also be ready to contribute.
- You will breaking into groups of 4-5. Each of you will have some time to discuss the questions. Please respect the time of others and ensure that everyone gets a fair go.
- This is a respectful and tolerant space so please ensure that you behave in a professional manner during, and after, the meeting.
Part 0 – Pre-Networking “Get To Know You”
You will be put into breakout rooms with 3-6 people for the first 10 minutes of the meeting. A question will be provided which will help you break the ice and get to the know the others in the room. An example could be “What has been your most interesting travel destination?” or “Can you recall an instance where you turned a failure into a big success?”.
Introduction
We will introduce the hosts and explain the meeting flow.
Part 1 – Pitch Without Pitching
We want to know about the person, not the business, however, we understand how proud you are of your business. In this section you will have an opportunity to share the following with the room:
- Your name
- Where you’re located
- Your business name
- What you are most excited about in your business right now?
This should take no more than 10-15 seconds. We all know what its like sitting through a pitchfest and this is not what you will experience at the Human Intelligence Networking Meeting.
An Example: My name is Joe, I’m from Sydney and I’m the managing director of the Global Business Factory. Right now I’m excited about going to Bali in April for our Entrepreneur’s Escape business retreat.
Sharing your win is all the promotion you need, we all love hearing about success and it tells us volumes about what makes you special in your industry without needing to give us the old pitch.
Part 2 – Education
Every 2 weeks we will cover off a new personal or professional development topic and create breakout rooms where you can discuss.
Part 3 – Speed Networking
Do you enjoy meeting new people? We do too. So for the next 30 minutes of the meeting you will have an opportunity to break out into rooms of 2 and spend 7 minutes having a 1-to-1 meeting. Take this time to get to know the other person, you get a very limited window to make an impression with someon and utilise this time for understanding, not selling.
